[TOMORROW] The Henry Shutts Society

TOMORROW night one of our Dresden Home Groups, The Henry Shutts Society, is headed to Homestead Beer Company’s Cherry Valley Public House. At 7:30pm they’re continuing their discussion from last time, tackling the subject of “Secularism and American Culture.” Come on out for great drinks, food, and community!

They’ll dive into their discussion with questions like, are we living in a secular age? What is a secular age? Is American culture, your local community, or your family more or less religious today than when you were a child? Is religion relevant any longer? What is the process of secularization? How does it impact your understanding of religion? How does it impact the way you live your life?

You don’t want to miss out!

:: NEW HOME GROUP – Together in the Storm

Have you ever felt alone in your suffering? Like you were lost in a sea of pain without anyone around to throw out a line and save you? Have you had questions of how to live on the other side of death and loss? Maybe you’ve wondered where a good God was hiding while you were consumed by the sorrow of loss?

If you’ve ever grieved, experienced loss, or suffered, we have a community for you. Starting today at 3pm, a new Home Group here at Dresden is launching to provide a space of support, open dialogue, and community. Together in the Storm aims to seek God and goodness in a world covered in pain and uncertainty. Come on out and find community in the storm.

:: Henry Shutts Society [Canceled This Evening]

Due to scheduling conflict with a number of regulars and the brewery, we’ve decided to cancel this evening’s gathering of the Henry Shutts Society.

We’ll be at Old Fool Brewery on May 12 at 7:30pm where we’ll chat about secularism and American culture over great food and drinks!

[Message from Pastor Dan] Holy Week Meetings

Hello everyone!

I hope this finds you well on this Monday morning. I am still praising God for a spirit-filled morning of worship yesterday. God is doing big things in Dresden!

The reason I write today is in regards to this week’s scheduled meetings for our Finance Team, Administrative Board, Mission: Dresden, and the Trustee Committee. A number of folks will be absent from these meetings this week, and considering the fact that it is also Holy Week and we have a LOT of things ahead, I have decided to postpone these meetings until next month. In the meantime, if there are any pressing issues that need to be discussed, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or the chair of one of these teams.

I am so thankful to have the opportunity to be your pastor and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us this week. Please pray for BIG THINGS to happen this Holy Week right here in Dresden!

Grace and peace,
Dan

:: Dresden Kids Sing (Children’s Choir)

We can’t wait for this one! On Palm Sunday (April 9) our Dresden Kids will help lead worship!

Think of it like one of those old school children’s choirs you were forced to be a part of as a kid. Only, we’re going to make it super fun! We’re recruiting the giant group of kids here at Dresden, partnering them with our praise band, and ditching the kids choir robes from 1988 that are probably still in the church basement.

Starting Sunday, March 13, following our Sunday morning worship gatherings, we will have a brief practices with our praise band! It shouldn’t last longer than 10 minutes!

Here’s the song we’ll sing together. Listen to it at home and jam out with your kids.
